The Sewanee Centennial House is a historic, southern neo-classical home that had fallen into slight disrepair when acquired by our client. Our team was brought in to create a modern office space with the necessary amenities while preserving the home's historic character. Our touch was light--restoring the brick, replacing and refinishing wood floors, replacing rotted columns on the porches, rebuilding the back patio, and repairing wood details that had fallen into disrepair, particularly around the fireplaces. Higher energy standards were achieved with minimal visual impact through new insulation in the existing walls and newer mechanical units. The result is a functional office space without sacrificing the historic nature which makes the house so unique.
