The Riverwood Residence is a lakeside retreat in Florence, Alabama, designed as a gathering spot for generations. The architectural design is a modern take on the classic craftsman style, which emits an open and airy feel. The home is a quiet balance of natural materiality with a riff on traditional forms found in the wooded setting on Wilson Lake. The home's exterior features wood brackets, cedar shake roofs, and stone chimneys that gently taper as they intersect with the roof. The interior design and decor feature wood beams with integrated lighting, custom light fixtures, painted wood board walls, a free-standing closet clad in reclaimed hickory, and a plaid carpeted bunkroom. Southern Accents, located in Cullman, AL, provided reclaimed wood, door fabrication, and furniture fabrication for this project.
