Game Terminal Court

Serving as an example of industrial, adaptive reuse, this former truck terminal has been transformed into a super arcade and bar. For this mixed-use development, architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture were integrated to create a headquarters for Turf Care Landscapes, Music City Pinball, and Game Terminal. An exercise in skin studies, corrugated metal panels with various opacities, orientations, and colors create a dynamic sense of play reminiscent of the games housed inside. All architectural features contribute to the sense of play, from the brightly painted conduits and railings to the bar's back wall, which appears to change color based on the onlooker's position. Inside, windows from the game room give players a view into the repair shop. Outside, a new egress staircase and retail entry are highlighted with a chrome, slatted enclosure. The result is a complete transformation from an industrial site to an immersive, exciting gathering space.
