Bastion
Bastion resides in an industrial building in the dynamic Wedgewood Houston neighborhood. The 24-seat restaurant is known for being the home to one of Nashville’s greatest chefs, Josh Habiger. Our team transformed the raw space with simple materials to create two distinctly intimate spaces, one for beverages and one for dining. The bar is bright and open, with plenty of room for ring toss and Pac-man. Undulating plywood benches flank and look towards the open zinc bar, highlighting the mixologist’s tools. The restaurant is hidden from the public’s view by an oversized sliding door leading to a waiting area for patrons. The dining room tables orient themselves towards the open kitchen, contained within a large arched brass countertop so that guests can observe the process and interact with the chefs. The design highlights the character of the space while creating a warm and intimate environment.
