404 Hotel and Kitchen
The 404 Hotel and Kitchen is a micro boutique hotel and cafe housed in a renovated mechanic’s garage. The kitchen serves a small, full-service restaurant and bar with intimate indoor and outdoor seating. The main dining room is defined by a repurposed shipping container whose wood floors serve as the material for the dining room tables. The intention of the container is to contrast the gritty character of the existing building and reflect the interest in salvaging throughout the project, both materially and culturally. The hotel is a self-serve model offering invisible service. Each room has a loft level that offers additional sleep quarters and meeting space. Beds, wardrobes, vanities, lighting, consoles, custom wallpaper, and other details were all designed by our team and locally fabricated. Branding and collateral were designed by Benji Peck of Peck Design Associates.
